Fair Trade Week Monday 20th to Friday 24th April 2015

As part of our "Global Awareness" Section under our Eco Schools banner, the Green Committee is focusing a specific week on Fair Trade in 2015.

"Fair trade means that the producer receives a guaranteed and fair price for their product regardless of the price on the world market. This means their quality of life should improve, as well as the long-term prospects for their children."

Over the course of the week commencing 20th April 2015 we will be running a series of Fair Trade Events across both the senior and prep school.

This will include a Fair Trade Quiz in tutor periods (with prizes!), Assemblies and a Fair Trade stall on Wednesday 22nd April 2015!

Many thanks for your support

Renewing our Green Flag Status!

Welcome to the Green Committee pages for
The Pocklington School Foundation.

In 2015 we are working towards renewing our Green Flag status that we were proud to be awarded in 2013.

As part of this award we must continue to demonstrate that we are an evolving Eco-School and progressing the Foundation (both Prep and Main School) in its commitment to the Environment.

After a hugely successful 2014 we hope to build on the excellent work the two schools have done.

We are focusing our attention  on a number of areas that includes Animal and Plant conservation and looking at ways the school can incorporate Fair Trade into its community.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the committee over the last 12 months and we look forward to a new year of new ideas and green initiatives.
